Very popular with Sunset Chinese but largely unknown otherwise, this dim sum place on Taravel offers tasty versions of the usual dishes. Although I didn't try them, salt-and-pepper tofu and Hong Kong style chow mein were very popular and appeared correctly prepared. I especially enjoyed their steamed pork liver. I'm going back.

First time visitor. Asked the manager if one portion of chicken fried rice was enough for two people, she said itÒ€ℒs a small portion and only enough for one person. The portion in the picture in my opinion is more than enough for two people. So either she thought we were a pair of fatties or she was being dishonest to earn more cash. Sadly I think itÒ€ℒs the later and most of the food will now go to waste

This was our first time here with no expectations. My party of 3 was seated right away on a busy Friday evening. The restaurant was busy and near capacity. We ordered 4 dishes and our total bill came out to be $73 after tip and tax.The food was outstanding. Every single one of the dishes we ordered met or exceeded expectations! We were greeted with free delicious soup and ended with free dessert- both were not anticipated. The prices were reasonable. Service was above average for a mid-level Chinese restaurant. The location was excellent as there aren't many chinese restaurants nearby and right on Taraval street (light rail). Parking was relatively easy for San Francisco and the sunset district. They were only in business for about 10 months. I hope they stay in business and it is a must try for locals and visitors in the area!

Cozy and excellent service. The food was delicious (recommend the pork roast hamhock) and tables and utensils were very clean. Definitely a top Cantonese restaurant in the area.

New owner since April 2019.. Serve Hakka dishes. Salt baked chicken and stuffed tofu are my favorites.

Fast service. Some dim sum dishes were very good while others were not. Everything was steaming hot when it got to the table. I liked the beef balls and fish balls. The durian pastry was crisp and flaky. I like to order pork blood and chives but the dish here was bland and the blood cubes were very firm. I like it a bit softer. Maybe nobody orders enough so it had been cooking for a while.

Was told former Kitchen Millbrae Chef is owner... if you know the Kitchen, you know long lines and wait times. Restaurant was fantastic accommodating a large group that expanded by 2 more banquet tables. They also carried the wine (my friends called Chinese moonshine) required by the occasion that was left at home. Good food portions.

Horrible service, waited over 40 minutes for our dishes to be served. The food is mediocre at best. Everything tastes bland. Chicken was bland, friend rice bland, sweet and sour pork? Bland. Clams were full of sand, pea sprouts? Had dirt inside. Definitely go somewhere else for food.

This is about as authentic as it gets in terms of a small family-run Dim Sum restaurant. All of the food is done pretty well, but don't expect to be inspired by anything inventive or fancy. The clientele is almost all local and Cantonese-speaking. The service is that of a typical Chinatown eatery: brusque and efficient, in a way that could be interpreted as rude in Western cultures, but not intended to be. Best to come here with someone who speaks the language and knows the ropes.

Best Hakka in SF (from the former owners of Hakka Restaurant in the Richmond). You can't order a bad dish here if you try.

Large proportions, well-flavored. Unfortunately left us with upset stomach, perhaps because many of the dishes were deep-fried (one of which wasn't clear on the menu) and not always the freshest. Cost was reasonable.

Unassuming Canto restaurant in Outer Sunset on Taraval. It's not as popular as the other dumpling houses, but you only really see locals here. By noon, there was a wait, so that's something. Sure, service is not great, but the food quality and fair prices more than makes up for that. We ordered a variety of dim sum, ate like a bunch of hungry wolves and still had leftovers to take away, and the bill only came out to $20 per person. If you don't want to wait in a long line and want some good food for a good price, check out Zhong Shan.

Came here for a family Chinese New Year dinner. Small place. Standard cleanliness for a Chinese restaurant. Food wasnÒ€ℒt anything extraordinary but typical and good enough. The bathroom floors are typical of these restaurants where there is a thick film of sticky diseases greasing up the bottom of your shoes.

Down home neighborhood restaurant with a well rounded menu featuring traditional Hakka cuisine. The dining room is not fancy but the flavors are excellent and the portions are large. As my dining companion put it, "It's home-style cooking that tastes like home and what my Mom used to make."

The food here is decent to good. Pricing is average with good portions. The rub is the spacing of tables. It gets very crowded and very noisy quite quickly. At least it did during this trip. I'd give it another try to see if it improves

The food was great and service was amazing. They gave us complimentary soup and dessert (there were signs outside saying "grand opening" so that may be why). We had the hakka style chicken and the hot and spicy clams. Would eat here again!

If you're a fan of sausages, this place is for you! The sausages are juicy and moist. You can definitely taste the difference between this and the store-bought kind.

Zhong San restaurant was named because the owner and all cooks are from a province in China called Zhong San. Their food here is authentic Cantonese wok dishes. Their dim sum are pipping hot when served onto the table, just like how most Chinese like them; fresh and hot! Do not expect 1st class services here as its crowded because the prices for dishes are decent and quality is comparable to some well known restaurants in the city. Do bring a lot of curiosity and courage to try different things if you're American and haven't had chinese dim sum before. Do not let your usually restriction for food stop you from trying out all their authentic chinese food.

Good homely restaurant for my family to come to. Food is good and have came here numerous times and the servers are all friendly. Not a popular/hip place so easy to get a table as long as it's not a holiday where a lot of Chinese families are out having dinner.
